A mixed skip prices everything in it as steel. Tungsten carbide, nickel alloys and titanium are worth substantially more than that, but only if someone sorts them out and prices them on their own content. That’s the whole business.
Every load that comes through the Malaga yard is separated by type and grade before a number goes near it, and the weight and recovery record that follows shows exactly what was found. It is the same process for a single drum of worn inserts off a workshop bench as it is for a shutdown clearance off a mine site. Nothing is weighed until it has been sorted, and nothing is paid until it has been weighed, so the number you receive reflects the metal you sent rather than an estimate made at the gate. How it works
Four steps between your gate and payment.
Your load is logged against a batch number as soon as it arrives, whether that's an IBC pod, a skip bin or a truckload off a job.
Step 1Material is separated by type before anything is priced. A batch that can't be graded by eye is identified first.
Step 2Every load crosses the scale at our Malaga depot, and the ticket is kept with the batch record.
Step 3Once weight and grading are confirmed, payment is made by EFT. Around 80% of loads ready to settle are paid the same day.
Step 4Every delivery is booked in with a batch number and a photo record, so the load can be traced from gate to payment.

Each batch is assessed for content and grade, then priced against the applicable market reference rather than a flat rate. We don’t publish a fixed price because it moves with the material and the market.

Both. You can bring material to our Malaga yard, or we can arrange collection. Collections are arranged job by job.

Some batches can’t be graded by eye. Those are identified before pricing. It is done where a specific batch needs it, not on every load.

Yes. For mine shutdowns and larger site clearances, we scope the job with you in advance and arrange bins and collection around your timeline.

No. We don’t accept hazardous or radioactive material, biohazards, general waste, pressure vessels, oils or coolants.

There’s no fixed public minimum. Bins and collection are decided case by case based on the customer, material and weight; a one-off drill bit bin normally needs more than 2,000 kg. Smaller loads can still be brought to Malaga by appointment or quoted individually.
