Tungsten Carbide
Solid carbide, brazed scrap, thermal spray, and sludge. WA's leading buyer with assay-backed offers and fast turnaround.
Top Buyer in WA Learn moreBuying specialty metals from mining, oil & gas, and manufacturing across WA.
Drill Bits Recyclers started with a simple observation: WA’s mining and industrial operations were sending high-value specialty metals to general scrap yards that couldn’t properly grade or price them. We built a business around solving that problem, with the testing equipment, industry knowledge, and logistics network to handle everything from tungsten carbide drill bits to Inconel superalloys.
Today we operate from our Malaga facility, running XRF and radiation testing on every load, collecting from Perth metro through to the Pilbara, Goldfields, and beyond. Same-week payment, transparent pricing, and a focus on the metals that matter most to WA industry.
We handle every part of the specialty metal recycling process. From core recycling and logistics through to testing, consulting, and global export.
From the moment your scrap arrives at our Malaga yard, every step is built around accuracy, traceability, and fast payment.
Your load arrives at our Malaga yard. Every delivery is logged with a reference number for full traceability.
Step 1Our team inspects and XRF tests every load, separating tungsten carbide, specialty alloys, and grades so you get paid what the material is actually worth.
Step 2Materials are weighed on calibrated, third-party-certified scales. Every load is logged with detailed reporting ready for your records and ESG reporting.
Step 3Payment is processed via EFT within the same week, with an itemised payout report. Fast, transparent, and hassle-free.
Step 4Every delivery is booked in with a unique reference, weight ticket, and inspection record so you have full traceability from yard gate to payment.
Our team identifies and separates tungsten carbide, Inconel, duplex stainless, titanium, and other high-value alloys so you get paid what the material is truly worth, not the lowest common grade.
All material is weighed on calibrated, third-party-certified scales and logged with detailed reporting. You get a full breakdown by weight, material type, and grade, ready for internal audits and ESG reporting.
Once your load is graded and weighed, payment is processed via EFT. Fast, secure, and hassle-free, with an itemised payout report for your records.
From our base in Malaga, Perth, we service mine sites, workshops, and facilities across the state.
The price gap between "mixed alloy" rate and assayed carbide rate has widened to its highest point in five years. Here's what's driving it - and how to capture the difference on your next clearance.
Three visual tells that get loads mis-graded - and the magnet test that misses two of the most common ones.
Weighbridge, assay, downstream destination, photo evidence. The four pieces every NGER-aligned report needs.

We buy specialty and high-value metals including tungsten carbide, stainless steel (all grades including duplex and super duplex), titanium, nickel alloys, Inconel, Hastelloy, precious metals, tantalum, and manganese steel. We focus on industrial and B2B sources, not consumer scrap.
Pricing is based on the alloy grade (confirmed by XRF testing), current LME and market rates, volume, and contamination level. We provide transparent quotes with no hidden deductions. For specialty metals like tungsten carbide, cobalt content and grade significantly affect value.
Both. You can drop off at our Malaga yard, or we can collect from anywhere across WA. We run regular collection routes to the Pilbara, Goldfields, Kimberley, Mid West, and South West, and we handle one-off site cleanups and full shutdown recoveries.
Once your material is graded and weighed, payment is processed within the same week. No drawn-out negotiations or delayed settlements. You get the final figure before payment is released.
XRF (X-ray fluorescence) analysis identifies the exact alloy composition of your scrap in seconds. It matters because specialty metals vary hugely in value. A piece of 316L stainless is worth more than 304, and Inconel 625 is worth significantly more than either. Without XRF, scrap gets misidentified and underpaid. We test every load.
Yes, this is a core part of what we do. For mine shutdowns, LNG plant turnarounds, and large site cleanups, we deploy a team onsite with sorting, grading, and logistics capability. We handle volume-based pricing and work around your schedule.
Every load is checked for radiation as part of our safety-first approach. This is especially important for scrap from oil and gas, power generation, and older industrial sites where NORM (naturally occurring radioactive material) can be present. Radiation checks ensure compliance and keep everyone safe.
No minimum volume. We handle everything from a single drum of carbide inserts up to full shutdown recoveries with multiple truckloads. For smaller quantities, drop-off at Malaga is usually the fastest option.
